A WALK with the Lions proved a hit with youngsters at Portishead Lake Grounds on May 22.
Scores of children braved the windy conditions to take part in the second sponsored walk of its kind, organised by the Lions Club of Portishead.
Roary the lion and his friends Spencer and Clarence led the walk and at the end, rewarded those who took part with gold medals and certificates for their efforts.
The event was supported by the Portishead police team and additional entertainment was provided by Punch and Judy.
Chairman of the fund-raising committee Keith Fuell said: “As the event was such a great success, the Lions Club hopes to repeat it again next year. The money raised will go back to the schools which took part.”
