The teams at Reeds Rains look at the effect the pandemic has had on property buyers and sellers and offer advice to those on the move

With the continued rising number of Covid-19 cases recorded in the UK and subsequently more restrictions being put in place by the Government as it tries to slow down the spread of the disease, a Portishead nursery has vowed to provide extra support for the parents of young children.

Hair and beauty businesses have been hit hard during social restrictions and having a full and buzzing salon is still a long way off, so spare a thought for those who recently graduated in the industry and need to build up their clientele.

Just as autumn has crept up on us only too quickly, so will Christmas. This year has been a strange year and with social restrictions still in place, people may have to think outside the box this Christmas.

Like many others, we had our summer holiday thrown out the window due to Covid-19 which was a shame, but small fry given the situation.

The government has taken unprecedented action to support renters during the pandemic in its quest to prevent people getting into financial hardship and as a result there have been no tenants evicted since the start of the pandemic.

Congratulations to local artist Margaret Riordan who won the recent Reeds Rains competition featured in the Resident, correctly spotting the location of the Reeds Rains mug in the kitchen in a 3D walk through online viewing. Margaret sent a letter of thanks:

It’s not often that a redecorating project turns in to something much bigger, but that’s what seems to have happened at Portishead Town Council (PTC) over the past several months.

Based on the foundation of more than 20 years’ experience in childcare and early years education, Jackie Hardie has created The Nursery, in Portishead, to offer children the very best start in life.

Portishead now has its own, small but perfectly formed, Heritage Centre thanks to a great deal of goodwill and community spirit.
