A PERIOD property in Portishead is to be torn down to make way for new homes.
Planning permission has been granted for the demolition of former care home Copper Beech at 33b Nore Road, to make way for five new town houses.
The property has been empty for several years and developers say the new dwellings with integral garages will be designed to have minimum impact on neighbouring properties.
The architectural style of the new homes is described as modern with large areas of glass in the facades facing the channel to take in the views.
