PORTISHEAD-BASED charity Za has installed a new textile recycling bank in the town’s High Street.
Working in partnership with Bristol Textile Recyclers, Za Foundation hopes the bank will create a steady stream of funds by encouraging people to recycle their unwanted clothing, shoes and handbags.
The bank is situated to the side of Goodman Lilley estate agent’s at 36 High Street, where Za has first floor offices.
Za helps sustain a generation of vulnerable and orphaned children in the Nkomazi region of South Africa, whose lives have been deeply affected by AIDS. It is currently raising money to fund the building of a new library for them.
Good quality textiles can be dropped in to the recycling bank day and night.
