Sixth form pupils at Gordano School have handed over almost £3,500 to two good causes as a result of pupils’ fundraising efforts in October.

Cheques for £1,709.34 were presented to the Portishead and Bristol Lifeboat Trust and CICRA, a charity researching Crohn’s disease in children.

A spokesman for the rag committee said: “The entire sixth form was involved in some way and more money was raised in the 2012 RAG week than ever before. It is a great achievement and we are very pleased to be able to support these two charities.”
