GLORIOUS sunshine attracted hundreds of people to the Portishead Flower Show and Country Fair.
Despite a drop in the number of entries in the fruit and vegetable categories this year, due to the poor weather conditions of earlier months, organisers hailed the event on Saturday and Sunday another success.
As temperatures soared, visitors browsed three marquees of garden produce, cookery, artwork and handicrafts and enjoyed a variety of outdoor activities. Live music, charity stands and a highly amusing dog display all contributed to the success of the two-day event.
The annual show, organised by Portishead and District Horticultural Society, has been running for 149 years.
