UNEMPLOYED people looking for work can get a helping hand from new drop-in sessions in North Somerset.

Colin McFadden from the National Careers Service launched the community facility at Portishead Youth Centre last week.

He said: “Our free sessions allow all members of the public to call in and find out what services are available to help them secure work. We can help in a number of ways from putting together an up to date CV and job hunting to booking advice sessions with a careers adviser to help look at their skills set and advise them on how to move forward in their chosen career path.”

The sessions allow everyone to get advice with no obligation in a friendly, informal and neutral setting.

Colin will be at the Harbour Road centre in Portishead on alternate Thursday mornings from 9am-1pm with the next session being on November 1. Drop in sessions are also being organised at Portishead, Clevedon and Nailsea libraries and Nailsea Youth House. For further details about any of these call Colin on 07876 398463.
