PARALYMPIAN Jen Howitt Browning paid a visit to St Peter’s Primary School in Portishead to talk about her experiences of competitive basketball.

Jen, who was injured in a walking accident at the age of nine, plays and coaches wheelchair basketball. She won a gold medal in the Paralympic Games in Athens in 2004 and now trains the GB wheelchair basketball team.

A school spokesman said: “The children were delighted to see a real gold medal and to ask Jen questions. Her message was clearly, always have a go and do your best in whatever you do.”
