A SELL-OUT rock concert staged by youngsters from Portishead, Nailsea and Clevedon proved a big hit.
The show at Princes Hall in Clevedon saw almost 80 young guitarists, bassists, drummers and vocalists deliver a range of songs, from My Generation and (I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction to Another One Bites the Dust and Highway to Hell.
Professional musician Ian Matthews, from the band Kasabian, turned up to present the Student of the Year awards for the North Somerset rock school.
Andy Collins, who runs The Rock Project, said: “The students really outdid themselves this year, they were all brilliant and really rocked out to some great songs.
“Some of the students had never played these instruments before they joined The Rock Project earlier in the year, so to see them up on stage playing these tracks was utterly fantastic. It was also great to receive the support of a professional musician, which was a thrill and an inspiration to the youngsters.”
