A NEW playground area at St Peter’s Primary School in Portishead has had these happy children jumping for joy.
The new area will compensate for the loss of a playground on which a school extension is currently being built.
The school now also has an additional playing field added to its space after the development of a disused meadow in the school grounds during the summer holidays.
Other improvements carried out at the school throughout the summer months include newly decorated reception classrooms with new furniture, seven new doors which lead directly from the classrooms to outside areas and a new toilet block.
Year three pupils have been given a new classroom, complete with brightly coloured wall murals and new modern furniture. A small community room and a former computer suite were transformed into a large learning resource centre (LRC), which will be used as a classroom until the completion of the school extension. Once the pupils move into the new building it will be handed back for its original purpose of an LRC, complete with computer suite.
