SONGS from the musicals were delivered by more than 600 North Somerset schoolchildren at the Music Association of Woodspring Schools (MAWS) concert at Bristol’s Colston Hall.
Dancers, a guitar ensemble, wind band and string orchestra joined a 350-strong choir to entertain an appreciative audience with a variety of numbers ranging from Food Glorious Food and Pick a Pocket or Two, to Over the Rainbow and Greased Lightning.
Prepared by North Somerset Music Service, it was the 38th year the MAWS concert has taken place.
A concert spokesman said: “It is a model of inter-school co-operation, where the pooling of talents of children and staff leads to a very enjoyable evening for everyone.”
It was the result of months of hard work by staff and pupils and was well worth all the effort according to everyone involved.
