THE Lions Club of Portishead has donated £400 to the town’s diabetes support group.
Lions president David Fitzpatrick handed over the money to group members Alan Fry and Bernadine Smith at Portishead Medical Centre in Victoria Square, where they hold regular meetings.
David said: “The Lions Club is delighted to support the Diabetes Support Group which has been helping local residents with diabetes for more than eight years.”
There are an estimated 1,500 people with diabetes in Portishead but only 81 are members of the group.
