PORTISHEAD’S royal family is now complete following the crowning of the carnival king and queen and two Duchesses.
Queen is Joanna Lawrence, aged 50, and 50-year-old Andy Luton is king. Sisters Charlie and Frankie Lane, aged 18 and 15 respectively, were named the Duchesses of Portishead and North Weston in a special Jubilee line up.
Royal family organiser Debbie Charman said: “All contestants were of a very high standard this year, but these four really stood out and are all extremely community minded.”
The queen and king both receive The Mall vouchers courtesy of the Times and they will also be treated to hair styling by Robert John on carnival day. The duchesses received gift vouchers and will have hair styled by Elements Hair Company on the big day.
The carnival royal family will lead the spectacular street procession from the Lake Grounds through the town to the carnival field on June 16.
