ST GEORGE’S Day celebrations at The Co-operative in Portishead raised £402 for charity.
Staff dressed up for the occasion and organised a cake sale and raffle to mark the day and raise money for The Co-operative’s charity of the year, The Carers Trust.
The charity supports thousands of young carers in the UK, including a number in North Somerset, who can be as young as 10 years old and support family members with illness. Over the past few weeks the Portishead store has also been holding a bring-and-buy book sale which has raised an additional £360 for the cause.
