A PORTISHEAD shopper was presented with a hamper after helping to select a charity for her local supermarket to support.
The Co-operative store in Wyndham Way will be supporting Sue Ryder, an organisation offering support and care to those with long-term illnesses or in need of end-of-life care, throughout 2014.
Customers were asked to vote for their preferred choice from a list of charities displayed in store with each voter being entered into a prize draw. Lesley Cooper of the Village Quarter received her prize from Sue Ryder regional fundraising co-ordinator Samantha Steadman and Co-op manager Mike Mullett. The Co-op staff team will be running a number of fundraising events throughout the year to boost funds and a Sue Ryder clothing collection point has been set up inside the shop.
