BUDDING artists in a Portishead contest have been awarded gift vouchers and certificates for their efforts.
The competition, at Portishead Youth Centre, was organised as part of Portishead festival week. The entries were put on display in the Harbour Road building and members of the public were invited to vote for their favourites.
First prize was awarded to Yatton schoolgirl Nelly, aged 10. Nine-year-old Florence, from Portishead, was awarded second place and Ashley Mace, aged 14, and also from Portishead, came third.
All three received gift vouchers donated by Portishead stationers Morgan Westley and 10 other entrants received highly commended certificates.
