A CHARITY event in Portishead raised more than 1,000 for cancer support.
Dancers, drag artists and comedians attracted more than 100 people to the evening of entertainment, organised by Portishead mum Amy McGuire at the town’s Workingman’s Club.
Grand Prix tickets, action days and raffle prizes donated by local businesses helped Amy, whose father died of cancer in November, raise 1,700 for Macmillan nurses.
Amy said: “This event was organised in memory of my dad and I can’t thank everyone enough for their support. It exceeded my expectations and allows us to make a generous donation to a very worthy cause.”
