PERMISSION will not be granted to site a skate park at Portishead’s Lake Grounds.
Planning permission for the park to be built at the seafront beauty spot was granted in 2011 but North Somerset Council, which owns the land, refused to give landlord’s consent for it to go ahead.
Portishead Skatepark Project (PSP) applied for consent again in December concluding, after more searching, that an alternative site could not be found.
Now however, in a decision notice the authority’s executive member for asset management, Tony Lake, has confirmed that following further consultation, the decision to refuse to grant a lease for the installation of a skate park at the Lake Grounds still stands.
