A PORTISHEAD mum has launched a group to help parents who are new to the town.
New Faces provides an opportunity for any parents who are feeling isolated to meet up and enjoy a cup of coffee with people who are in, or who have been in, similar circumstances.
Zoe Chalk says when she and her husband moved to Portishead with their one-year-old daughter they felt like outsiders and found it difficult to make friends quickly with other parents of young children.
Zoe turned to Practically Perfect Mums, the information website for parents and carers in the town.
With their help and encouragement, New Faces was set up and it now holds regular coffee mornings at Portishead Youth Centre in Harbour Road on the first Friday of each month from 10.30am.
Zoe is hoping the group will grow so that other activities can be organised from walks and play activities to parents’ nights out.
