A NEW adaptation of Emily Bronte’s Wuthering Heights (15) will be screened in Clevedon from Friday.

On Sunday, screenwriter Olivia Hetreed will be visiting The Curzon Community Cinema to talk about her work on the film.

Wuthering Heights is directed by Andrea Arnold and stars Skins actress Kaya Scodelario as Kathy.

The story begins when a Yorkshire hill farmer finds a homeless boy on the streets during a visit to Liverpool.

When he takes him home to live as part of his family on the isolated moors, the boy forges an obsessive relationship with the farmer’s daughter.

Wuthering Heights will be shown at the Curzon from Friday until December 1.

Olivia Hetreed will give a brief introduction before the screening on Sunday at 2pm. Afterward there will be a question and answer session, during which Olivia will talk about adapting the novel for the screen and the choices she made about how to tell the story. Writer and director Niall Johnson will be posing the questions.
