Songbird show for Eva Cassidy

THE remarkable journey of Eva Cassidy will be told in a one-off show at Weston’s Playhouse next month, detailing the singing star’s poignant journey from humble beginnings to her death at the age of just 33.
Sarah-Jane Buckley, best known for playing Kathy Barnes in Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks, is renowned as one of the world’s leading Eva Cassidy performers, and will lead the show as the Washington-born singer, who died from melanoma in November 1996.
Long-term fans of Eva, considered one of the greatest singers of the 1980s and 1990s, and those new to her unique take on classic songs are in for a treat, with the show backed by a live on-stage band.
