Portishead Players present Blood Brothers

An amateur dramatics group will perform one of the most popular musicals ever written this week.

Portishead Players will perform Blood Brothers from tomorrow (Thursday) to Saturday at Somerset Hall, in High Street, at 7.30pm.

Blood Brothers tells the tragic story of the Johnstone twins, Mickey and Edward, are separated at birth as their mother struggles to cope with the financial burden of her family.

Raised streets apart in the heart of Liverpool, the boys' lives take two different paths as one was raised in a wealthy family, the other in a poor family.

Following a chance meeting, the pair form an unlikely friendship, but will it last?

Overflowing with tension, superstition and bags full of emotion, the play is inspired by the lyrics and music of Willy Russell.

Portishead Players will also put on a matinee showing on Saturday afternoon, starting at 2pm.

Tickets, priced £8-10, can be purchased on 0333 666 3366, or from Portishead Motorcare, in The Precinct, or by clicking here.
