Call The Midwife star Helen George leads a new stage production of Daphne du Maurier’s Gothic thriller My Cousin Rachel.

George stars as Rachel, who travels from Florence to the Ashley Estate in Cornwall, home of her recently deceased husband.

Rachel's presence in the house arouses dark suspicions and uncontrollable desires, not least in the heir to the Ashley estate, Rachel's cousin Philip, played by Warhorse's Jack Holden.

The critically-acclaimed adaptation by Joseph O'Connor also stars Peak Practice's Simon Shepherd as Nicholas, and is directed by Anthony Banks.

My Cousin Rachel is at The Theatre Royal, in Saw Close, until Saturday at 7.30pm.

Tickets, priced £25.75 to £39.75, are available on 01225 448844 at www.theatreroyal.org.uk
