A great golfer, television presenter, commentator and author will be answering questions about his varied and exciting career when he visits The Playhouse in Weston.

The World Gold Hall Of Fame inductee Peter Alliss will be treating the audience to humorous anecdotes during A Question Of Golf at the Weston venue on March 4.

Peter’s father Percy Alliss was among the finest players of his generation, before Peter followed in his footsteps. He won 21 professional tournaments over a 15-year period including three British PGA championships.

Alliss retired from the professional golf circuit in 1969 and became the BBC’s chief golf commentator for major events including The Open and The Ryder Cup.

The 85-year-old has written 20 books and writes regularly for Golf International and Fairway To Green magazines.

Peter, who played in eight Ryder Cups, is known for his extensive knowledge of golf and his off-the-cuff humour and fans will be able to gain an insight into the sporting world at the question and answer session.

The show will begin at 7.30pm on Saturday.

Tickets, priced £22, are available at www.theplayhouse.co.uk or on 01934 645544.
