A VICTORIAN classic with a topical theme will be put on by Tickenham Drama Group.

Oscar Wilde’s An Ideal Husband tells the story of the ambitious Sir Robert Chiltern, whose political career is threatened when wily Mrs Cheveley turns up at his house to reveal she knows more about his past than he would like.

Starring Andy Francis and Julie Bisacre in the lead roles, the cast also includes Roger Hockedy as Lord Caversham, Margaret Hobbs as Lady Chiltern and Bob Beale as Lord Goring.

Director Lou Beale said: “I am delighted to be directing this play as it is a classic with witty lines and not often performed by amateur groups.”

An Ideal Husband will be performed at Tickenham Village Hall in Clevedon Road from November 23-26. Doors open at 7.15pm for curtain up at 7.45pm.

Tickets, priced £9, or £5 for students, are available by calling 01275 852663.
