Live music, puppetry and a captivating fairytale world awaits in a production heading to North Somerset this month.

Theatre Shop, in Clevedon, will be hosting A Necklace Of Raindrops in late-October.

The production is based on the works of children’s author Joan Aiken and it is likely to go down a treat around half-term.

A show spokesman said: “A necklace of raindrops that keeps its owner dry in the heaviest rainstorm, a house that stands on one leg and a granny who sews magic into every stitch – these are just some of the objects and characters that delight and entrance in these spell-binding stories.

“One Moment In Time’s storyteller Bronia Evers collaborates on this production with cellist Hannah Marshall to retell these much-loved classic tales by Joan.

“Dynamic physical storytelling, live music, shadow puppetry and magical moving paper scenery combine to bring these timeless tales alive for a new generation of story listeners.

“Featuring an enchanting live score featuring strings, wind and percussion.”

A Necklace Of Raindrops will be staged at Clevedon’s Theatre Shop, in Queens Square, on October 27 with shows at 11.30am and 2.30pm.

The show is recommended for children aged six and older.

Tickets, priced £8 plus booking fee, are available at www.theatreshop.org.uk or on 03336 663366.

The Times has teamed up with Theatre Shop to offer one reader a pair of tickets to the show.
