GAVIN and Stacey star Mathew Horne will appear on stage at the Theatre Royal Bath in the comedy classic Charley’s Aunt.

Direct from a sell-out London run, Mathew will make his debut at the theatre in Brandon Thomas’ world-famous farce.

Star of stage and screen Jane Asher, Norman Pace and Steven Pacey also perform as part of a stellar cast visiting Bath.

Set in the early 1890s, the comedy’s side-splitting mix of chases, scenes of mistaken identity and wildly improbable coincidences, makes for a highly entertaining show.

Oxford undergraduates Jack and Charley are smitten by two young women, Kitty and Amy, but they cannot spend any time alone unless there is a female chaperone present. Just in time, Charley’s rich aunt, Donna Lucia, visits from Brazil.

But when Donna is delayed their romantic plans are ruined. Forced to act quickly, Jack blackmails fellow student Lord Fancourt Babberley into impersonating Charley’s aunt.

The hilarious show will be staged at the theatre from Monday until November 17 at 7.30pm. Tickets, priced £17.50, are available from the box office on 01225 448844.
