OSCAR-WINNING film The Artist (PG) will be shown at Clevedon’s historic cinema as part of a it’s autumn senior screening programme.

A winner of five Oscars, the film tells of the coming of sound in Hollywood and its impact on the careers of a silent movie star and a young dancer.

The Curzon Community Cinema will put this on at 2pm on September 19 as part of its senior screenings, which are for anyone aged over 60.

Each session will include an introduction to the film and a discussion about it afterward. Minibus groups are welcome and the auditorium is accessible to most.

Tickets, priced £4 to include a refreshment, can be booked by calling 01275 871000 or by sending a cheque with a full name and address to Curzon Community Cinema (senior screenings), 46-48 Old Church Road, Clevedon, BS21 6NN.
