The risque literary sensation Fifty Shades Of Grey has been given a Hollywood makeover for its cinema release this week.

When Anastasia Steele (Dakota Johnson) is asked to interview entrepreneur Christian Grey (Jamie Dorman), the chemistry is obvious and sparks begin to fly.

Grey seizes on Steele’s sexual inexperience and naivety during their passionate affair, with him encouraging her to try more and more extreme ideas.

EL James’ erotic novel has been a global phenomenon since being published in 2011 and its cinematic release is likely to cause a similar stir. Fifty Shades Of Grey (18) will get its first airings at Clevedon’s Curzon cinema on Friday at 5.45pm and 7.30pm.

For something a little more child-friendly, the Shaun The Sheep Movie is continuing to be shown at 2pm throughout half-term, with a special guest making an appearance after the screening on February 20.

Richard Starzak, director of Shaun The Sheep, will take part in a Q&A session at the Curzon and will be bringing along a life-size model of Shaun for people to meet.

American Sniper, directed by Clint Eastwood, will receive its final Curzon screenings this week, being shown at 7.30pm today (Wednesday) and tomorrow (Thursday) at 2pm and 7.30pm.
