A NEW season of special screenings for the over 60s will soon begin at The Curzon Community Cinema.

The first series proved so popular, staff at the Clevedon facility have decided to put on another.

This will begin with Made in Dagenham, the hit film about the 1968 women machine workers’ strike at the Ford Dagenham Motors plant, which will be shown on September 7 at 2pm

Funded by the Quartet Charitable Foundation and supported by Age UK and Alliance Homes, the screenings are for people living in North Somerset.

There will be an introduction and a chance to talk about the film afterwards, with refreshments served in the auditorium.

The series of screenings will continue until December and will be held monthly on a Wednesday at 2pm.

The first film will be shown for £3 and all subsequent screenings, on October 5, November 9 and December 14, will cost £4. For more details call 01275 871000.
