PORTISHEAD’S community radio returns the airwaves next week with its 20th youth broadcast.
Run by young people aged between 11 and 16 years, the station is based at the town’s youth centre.
Radio Dynamic can be heard on 87.9 FM from 9am until 10pm daily from October 25-29 with a special overnight broadcast on 28.
Behind the microphones there will be a combination of familiar DJs who have played a big part in the local radio station for many years and they will be joined by novices, who have been attending weekly training sessions run by the youth club.
In addition to a wide range of music, presenters will be interviewing local celebrities, town and business leaders and finding out more about the numerous community groups and organisations in and around Portishead.
The highlight of the week is expected to be the popular D Factor competition, where Radio Dynamic will be on the lookout for new talent.
A live phone in voting system will allow listeners to select this year’s winner, who will win the opportunity to record their own CD in the Harbour Road recording studio.
