If you feel the humdrum of daily life is getting you down, then Portishead Film may have the perfect antidote with Paterson.

The film focus on Paterson a bus driver in New Jersey.

Each day he drives the same route, encounters the same people, before going home to his wife Laura. But, she is different – she loves to dream and chase new adventures. Their chalk and cheese style makes them perfect together.

Paterson loves catching snippets of conversations and finding interest in things many would miss or ignore.

A Portishead Film spokesman said: “The film quietly observes the triumphs and defeats of daily life, along with the poetry evident in its smallest details. It’s a fascinating and enthralling film which finds magic in the mundane and shows everyday life can be turned into something mysterious.”

Paterson will be shown at Jubilee Hall in Slade Road at 8pm on Friday.

Tickets, priced £5, can be bought on the night.
