Bristol is set to welcome an award-winning British indie band this spring.

The Cribs will perform at the O2 Academy, in Frogmore Street, on May 16 at 7pm.

Their first two records – The Cribs and The New Fellas – earned them a healthy group of admirers, but it was the often-dreaded third album which took them to the next level.

Men’s Needs, Women’s Needs, Whatever featured the Yorkshire-based rockers’ most successful mainstream hit, Men’s Needs, which is one of the best indie tunes since the millennium, featuring an unforgettable guitar riff which is an essential pillar of any road trip playlist.

The Cribs will pay homage to Men’s Needs, Women’s Needs, Whatever, which was released 10 years ago, by playing the entirety of the album as their set list for the show.

The band’s efforts were recognised by rock bible NME in 2013, who awarded the band with the Outstanding Contribution to Music award.

This opportunity to catch a great band reliving their pomp is one indie fans should not pass up.

Tickets, priced £23.06, are available from 08444 772000, or online via www.academymusicgroup.com
