Win tickets to see Take That's musical The Band
PUBLISHED: 07:00 10 April 2018
The music by one of Britain's most successful boy bands features in a new musical being performed in Bristol this month.
The show, The Band, is already the fastest-selling musical theatre tour of all time and has already added a number of dates to the schedule.
It is first set in 1992, where, for a group of 16-year-old girls, their favourite band means everything to them.
Those same women meet 25 years later, and try to fulfil their dream of meeting the boy band whose music became the soundtrack to their lives.
The Band features music by Take That, Britain’s most successful boy band, and is filled with recognisable hits including Never Forget, Back For Good, and Rule The World.
Take That’s own members have been involved in the show, with Gary Barlow, Howard Donald, Mark Owen and Robbie Williams among its producers.
The Band stars young singers who formed their own band on the BBC’s Let It Shine show.
The group, called Five To Five, made it through televised auditions to win the chance to star in the production.
Tim Firth wrote the script for The Band.
His credits include Our House, a musical based on the hits by Madness, and a stage version of Calendar Girls.
He also wrote a musical version of Calendar Girls alongside Take That’s Gary Barlow.
The Band will be at the Bristol Hippodrome from Tuesday to April 28.
