One of the biggest names in the music industry has announced she will be performing in Bristol next year.
Pop sensation Rita Ora has topped both the UK and US charts – and is now bringing her incredible show to the O2 Academy.
The songstress rose to fame in 2011 when she released covers and videos from her debut album on to YouTube.
The video caught the attention of international star DJ Fresh, who at the time was looking for a female vocalist for his song Hot Right Now. The single debuted in February 2012 and shot to number one in the UK singles chart.
Since then she has had a string of successful number one hits, including RIP and How We Do (Party).
The Kosovo-born star has collaborated with some of the biggest names in the industry, including Tinie Tempah, Chase and Status and Coldplay, after she supported the band on their Mylo Xyloto tour.
She released her debut album Ora in August 2012 which also went to number one in the UK album chart.
The successful year only continued for Ora when she released Shine Ya Light, which became her fourth consecutive top 10 single in the UK, peaking at number 10.
She has gone on to TV stardom, taking over from supermodel Tyra Banks as the new presenter and judge of America’s Next Top Model in the wake of her own impressive modelling career, and starred as Mia Grey in the film adaption of the best-selling novel Fifty Shades Of Grey.
In the lead up to the release of her second album, Anywhere, Ora has performed at BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend and Glastonbury.
She has also released another three successful singles including I Will Never Let You Down in 2014 and Poison in 2015.
Ora has now returned to music after more than two years, releasing Your Song in May followed by Anywhere and then Lonely Together, which hit the top three in its first week.
The album will see Rita take a new direction with her music and take a step away from the ‘party girl’ persona.
Ora will be at the O2 Academy Bristol at 7pm on May 19.
Tickets, priced £33.70, are available at www.academymusicgroup.com/o2academybristol or on 01179 279227.
