Charity event gets Mid Life Crisis

POPULAR Portishead covers band Mid Life Crisis provides the live music at a charity event in aid of St Peter’s Hospice on Friday.

Organiser Pat Beavis is hoping to attract record crowds as she strives to raise hundreds of pounds for the good cause.

The band, fronted by local dentist Nick Williams, delivers songs from the 60s to the modern day, including numbers ranging from Elvis and The Beatles to Kings of Leon and Snow Patrol.

With its large and varied repertoire, the band has a well-earned reputation for creating a party atmosphere wherever it goes.

Dance organisation Portishead Le Roc will be giving a live dance demonstration and there will be opportunity to win scores of prizes in a grand draw.

The event takes place at Portishead Working Men’s Club in Slade Road from 7.30pm. There is a late bar and dancing will continue until after midnight.

Tickets are £5 in advance and can be purchased from the club or from Reeds Rains Estate Agents at 41 High Street. Admission on the door will be £6. For further information call Pat on 07766 022634.
