Folk soloists to duet at Nailsea Tithe Barn

TWO acclaimed folk musicians will combine talents at the Tithe Barn, in Nailsea, on Friday.

Organised by Nailsea Folk Club, singer and fiddle player Jackie Oates will duet with accordion queen Karen Tweed in what is billed as ‘an intimate evening with music of the very highest quality’.

Jackie’s album Violet Hour, produced by Phil Beer, received rave reviews, and she was hailed as ‘one of the finest singers and musicians on the current folk scene’ at the BBC folk awards.

Karen, described as ‘mercurial, wacky and elegantly English’ and ‘one of the leading lights on the UK and international folk scenes’.

The gig starts at 8pm, with tickets costing £10.
