Festive band frenzy

A FESTIVE band frenzy at Somerset Hall in Portishead High Street will raise funds for the town’s youth centre redevelopment project.

On December 23 three local bands will showcase their talent in a Christmas event, offering a variety of live music alongside two guest female vocalists and a selection of DJs.

This over-18s event promises to have music fans rocking around the Christmas tree and aims to take everyone on a seasonal journey unveiling the truth behind the legend of Santa Claus.

Portishead band, Frenetica, will deliver a combination of ludicrous stage stunts, hilarious gags and catchy tunes in a show guaranteed to have you in stitches. Hip hop band, Freeminds, will invite guest vocalists Rae and MC Rowston to join them on stage before The Spooks present a host of favourites from classic pop, soul, blues and rock to reggae and ska.

The evening will include a drum and bass hour, full licensed bar and a reggae chill out zone.

Tickets cost £8 and are available at Freemans and Portishead Fish Bar both in High Street.

The event wil be held from 7.30pm-1.30am. As it’s over 18s only, ID may be required.
