A CHRISTMAS concert is being held in Portishead to help raise £25,000 for the Sue Ryder charity.

The Sing For Sue concerts feature a variety of top regional and international music acts, including the Bristol Male Voice Choir, the Ponita choir, and The No Good Nancies.

The Cirencester Male Voice Choir will also be singing, and there will be a performance of The Nutcracker by the Russian Ballet.

Fundraiser Samantha Steadman said: “One in four of us are living with a life-changing illness, and Sue Ryder delivers expert care that makes a tangible difference to those people’s quality of life.

“Coming along to our Sing For Sue concerts is a wonderful, positive way to support us, while also having an amazing and very Christmassy night out.”

Concert-goers can enjoy mince pies and mulled wine while enjoying the entertainment.

The concert will be held in St Peter’s Church in Church Road South on December 12.

Other concerts are taking place at St Mary Redcliffe Church in Colston Parade, Bristol, on December 7 and St John the Evangelist Church in South Parade, Bath, on December 13.

Tickets, priced £5-10, are available from, or 0117 929 3618.
