A CONTEMPORARY film will be shown as part of The Curzon Community Cinema’s senior screening programme.

Julie and Julia will be shown on January 11 at 2pm.

Starring Amy Adams, Meryl Streep and Stanley Tucci, the Oscar-nominated film tells how the lives of blogger, Julie Powell, and cookery writer, Julia Child, become intertwined when Julie sets herself the task of cooking all 524 recipes from Julia’s 1950s recipe collection in one year.

The senior screenings programme is open to anyone aged over 60 living in North Somerset.

Entry is £4, which includes an introduction, refreshments and the chance to talk about the film afterward.

As part of the programme, An Education will be shown on February 8 and Girl with the Pearl Earring will be screened on March 14.
