A documentary about a man’s epic climbing experience will be screened in North Somerset this month.

Free Solo follows climber Alex Honnold's daring journey to scale the face of El Capitan, a 3,200-foot mountain in Yosemite National Park - without a rope.

The unaided climb is a test of individual strength and skill, and Alex takes viewers through the highs and lows of his lifelong dream to conquer the task.

Free Solo has won the 2019 Academy Award and BAFTA for Best Documentary Feature and has been described as an 'audacious film, not only for its physical feats and filmmaking, but for its overall message to seize life'.

The film will be screened at Long Ashton Cinema at the village community hall, in Keedwell Hill, on October 19 from 8-10.30pm.

Tickets, priced £2.50-£5, are available at www.la-cinema.uk
