An adventurer will speak at this year’s South West Outdoor Festival.

The event celebrates all things outdoors and speakers will range from extreme athletes to world-class climbers, including Sean Conway. It will take place at Cheddar Gorge from September 8-10 and Conway will bring his charismatic style to it on its opening day.

In 2015 he became the first person to complete the Great British Triathlon after cycling, swimming and then running the length of Britain.

There will be live music at the festival and the weekend will also see talks from Nick Butter who is running 196 marathons in 196 countries, and Jamie McDonald, who defied a childhood marred by illness who is now a real-life superhero – AdventureMan – and puts on his cape to raise money for hospitals.

All talks, music and entertainment are free for day visitors and weekend campers.

Tickets for camping, priced £15-95, are available at www.nationaltrust.org.uk
