An award-winning musical which has been watched by millions of people around the globe is heading to Bristol.

The Lion King will be performed at the Hippodrome, in St Augustines Parade, from Saturday to November 23.

The show, set in the African Savannah, explores themes of love, family and betrayal.

Simba, a cub, is next in line for the throne but he mistakenly blames himself for his father Mufasa's death.

He runs away from home as a result, leaving the throne to his evil uncle, Scar.

But after growing up he returns home to claim what he rightfully is owed.

The Lion King is well known for catchy tracks such as Hakuna Matata, I Just Can't Wait To Be King, Circle Of Life and Can You Feel The Love Tonight.

Tickets, priced £20-97.50 are available at or on 08448 13012.
