A fundraising art trail will be held in Portishead next week.
Portishead Arts has organised a creative weekend of activities for August 5-6 and it wants to showcase the talents of people living in the town.
Sixty people, of varying ability, will be able to take part in the festival which will raise funds for a Skatepark Friday event at Portishead Youth Centre.
A Portishead Arts spokesman said: “We’re inviting 20 adults and 20 young people to come along at 9am on August 5th to Hall & Woodhouse, on the town’s picturesque marina, for a full day of brushwork alongside renowned artists from the North Somerset and Bristol area.
“All materials will be provided – you just need to supply the creative juices.
“As well as the mass outdoor paint-off around the marina, Portishead Arts will be at Hall & Woodhouse giving demonstrations and hosting workshops in a range of media throughout August 5 to encourage and inspire visitors to get involved and enjoy being creative.
“Celebrations will continue on the following day as the first Marina Arts Trail, featuring all of the artwork that has been created, will be open for all to come along and enjoy on August 6.
“Portishead Arts is also organising a party at Hall & Woodhouse throughout the day to celebrate, including DJs, stalls and some special surprises.”
To raise money for the skatepark event, people can pledge £25 and in return will receive one of the artworks created.
Businesses can also become a gold sponsor for £500 and feature on all the event’s promotional material.
The group hopes the event will inspire people of all ages to make art pieces and enjoy showing them to people.
The spokesman added: “Portishead Arts aims to highlight the incredible range of creative talent that we have on our doorsteps and inspire the next generation of artists in the town.
“Portishead Arts is a local not-for-profit organisation which has previously held popular arts and crafts fairs at Portishead Lido.”
