CONTEMPORARY paintings and illustrations of Bristol will be on show in a Nailsea gallery this month.

Talented artist Diana Figueiredo will be showcasing over 30 new pieces at The Blue Room, in Crown Glass Place, from Friday until April 8.

Diana, who was born in Brazil, studied in Bristol and enjoys capturing the life of the city in her work.

She said: “I grew up here and so have a great affinity with Bristol.

“I enjoy capturing the charm of the city, from the bustling cobbled streets of St Nicholas Market to the grand and elegant terraces of Clifton - there is so much character to be found.”

Diana is a big fan of Bristol’s history and many landmarks such as the Clifton Suspension Bridge, the ss Great Britain and the Bristol Docks feature in her work.

She said: “I am very much looking forward to showing these new works and I hope that people get a lot of enjoyment from them.”

Clifton Style will also be exhibiting hand-painted French country-style furniture during the event.

The Blue Room is open every day from 10am-4pm and Diana will be in the show room every Sunday to talk about her work.
