A 1940s-themed weekend will be put on in Clevedon featuring a variety concert and tea party.

The event will be held at the community centre in Princes Road on August 7 and 8.

On August 7 from 7.45pm, a variety concert in the centre’s Princes Hall will include words and music from the era.

On August 8 from 3-5pm, a tea party will be held in the jubilee lounge offering a 1940s menu and entertainment.

Proceeds from the events will be split, with some money going toward refurbishing the community centre and some being donated to the armed forces charity, Help for Heroes.

Tickets for each event, priced £5, are available from the centre office during business hours or on the door on the day.

Anyone who can help by lending 1940s memorabilia can call Carole Hockedy on 01275 853975 or the the Clevedon Community Association office on 873405.
