FRILLED-UP petticoats are swapped for a Stetson hat and a pair of cowboy boots in the sensational musical Calamity Jane.

The production, compiled by The Watermill Theatre, is heading to the Bristol Hippodrome this month and will see Jodie Prenger take the lead role, along with Emmerdale star Tom Lister.

The hard and boastful Calamity Jane can outrun and outshoot any man in Deadwood and travels to Chicago to recruit a star, Adelaide Adams, for the Deadwood Stage.

But things don’t go too smoothly for Calamity, as everyone in town favours the new girl, and she struggles to keep her jealousy and pride in check.

It takes her long-standing enemy Wild Bill Hickok to make her see sense, and realise her secret love.

The show will be at the theatre from October 21–25 at 7.30pm with 2.30pm matinees on October 22, 23 and 25.

Tickets, priced £12.90-38.90, are available from the box office on 08448 713012 or via www.atgtickets.com
