IT MAY be beaming with sunshine outside but there’s a downpour heading for the Bristol Hippodrome when Singin’ In The Rain hits the stage.

Stage and screen leading man Maxwell Caulfield will play studio boss R.F. Simpson and Coronation Street favourite Vicky Binns will star as Lina Lamont in this reworking of Gene Kelly’s classic musical.

The story follows Don Lockwood, a silent movie star, with everything he could want – fame and a well-publicised ‘romance’ with his co-star Lina.

But Hollywood is about to change – there is rumour in the studio of a new kind of film, where the actors actually talk, sing and dance.

Is Don and the uniquely voiced Lina’s moment in the spotlight about to get drowned out?

Singin’ In The Rain will be at the Hippodrome from July 22 to August 9 at 7.30pm. There will also be matinee showings on Wednesdays and Saturday at 2.30pm.

Tickets, priced £15-49.50, are available from the box office on 0844 871 3012 or via www.atgtickets.com/bristol
