WRINGTON-Redhill AFC held its annual presentation evening at Wrington Sports & Social Club recently.
Following a superb buffet created by Pat Bull, Heather Lovatt and Mary Lamb, Alan Garrett warmly welcomed all in attendance. He particularly paid tribute to the enthusiasm and support the vice-presidents give the club. Thanks also went to Nick Taplin for his generosity and shirt sponsorship, including involving Marco Pierre White’s endorsement of the first team kit.
The club was delighted to invite one of its newer vice-presidents, the Right Hon. Dr Liam Fox, and he kindly presented the awards: 1st XI manager’s player of the year: Chris Holland; players’ player: Dan Taylor; clubman: Jon Marsh; young player: Tom Johnson; reserve team players’ player: Luke Johnson; reserve team manager’s player: Simon Garrett.
Although the playing season had been disappointing, the club foundation and spirit remain unbowed, which is typified by its president, Horace Ashman’s 40-year association with the club. As always, a new season is just around the corner and the club welcomes new players to come and join them.
