Jake Tucker won Portishead Table Tennis Club’s President’s Cup as the junior (under-18) to have made the most improvement during the year.

The panel were impressed as Tucker jumped up two levels to play in Bristol League Division Three and helped the team win the title and Bristol Mordecai Cup.

He also won the Weston League Division One and Archdale Cup and played in the Bristol Premier Division - and won a match.

Tucker also won the Natoinal League with the juniors and represented the club at various regional events, taking prizes in most.

He also played for and captained the Portishead Sharks to the Bristol & District Summer League and had served as the club's first young ambassador.

Tucker helped organise and run a tournament in tribute to Deon Riley, raising £725 for the British Heart Foundation and Chris Stone said: "I'm delighted with the choice. Jake is a true ambassador for the club and a very worthy winner."

Tucker will be playing for Portishead in Bristol League Division One, as well as both senior and junior British League matches this season.
